School and Nursery Support

I have a wide range of experience working directly with schools and nurseries as part of previous roles.

 

I am able to offer schools, nurseries and preschools a free 20 minute consultation within your setting or via video to discuss any needs you have and how to enhance your space to make it as communicatively effective as possible for all the children in your environment. 

Training

Training can be provided for both whole staff or individuals working with children. Specific training packages have been devised to support and develop a range of skills. Packages include, but are not limited to:

  • Creating a communication friendly space.

  • Typical speech and language difficulties found in nursery and school settings.

  • Speech sound development - what is "normal" and what you should be concerned about. 

  • Spoken language development - how language develops, signs you should look for and how to support those who look like they may be having trouble talking.

  • Using visual supports in your setting.

  • Basic support for working on Speech and Language Therapy programmes. 

  • Narrative Language (for those who have language difficulties and for general support).

  • Vocabulary development.

Support with Speech & Language Programmes

Often when a programme from a Speech and Language Therapist is given to a setting they are unable to provide much support and training in association with this programme. We can provide you with support on the targets put in place with resources and strategies, observation and feedback on the programme over time. We can also support you to break the programme down into manageable steps and support you to step it up or down as to the child's needs.

If you require support with a specific child or group of children we are able to offer support with them directly through:

  • Observations

  • Formal and informal assessment

  • Speech and Language Therapy Programmes

Child Counseling

Screening of key stage 1 age children

If you are worried about a large group of children within your reception, year 1 or year 2 class, we can provide a scree for all of those you are concerned about. In the screen we will do a basic speech sound and language assessment to determine what needs they have and what support they may require.

Costs

Individual Sessions

If you would like to book individual services for individual children then please look at the services and fees page for costs

Whole Day or Regular Input

If you would like to look at book a whole day of support from a therapist we charge £310 per day. Sessions can either be booked on an individual basis, or as block of time. Contact us for more information
